Washer fluid and windshield wiper blades–Ostar
The windshield washer fluid container located in the engine compartment supply washer fluid to both the windshield washer and headlight washing system.
Before opening the engine hood,read and heed the warnings→! in “Safety is job no.1 when working in the engine compartment” on page36.
The location of the container is shown in the couesponding engine compartment diagram → booklet 3.5″Techincal Data”.
Since regular water is usually not adequate for cleaning the glass.add a cleaning solution to the water.Please follow the dilution instructions on the package.

Changing windshield wiper blades Demaged wipe blades must be replaced immediately.
Regularly check the condition of the wiper blades.Change them when worn.
Changing the windshield wiper blades
1 Swith off the ignition.
2 Swith off the windshield wipers.
3 Lift the wiper arm away from the glass.Do not pull the arm by the blade.
4 Turn the wiper blade in a counter-clockwise direction to the left and then pull it off.
5 Install a new wiper blade of the same length and type onto the wiper arm and turn the wiper blade clockwise.
6 Put the wiper arms back against the glass.
Wiper blades are available from your authorized Volkswagen dealer.
If the windshield wipers rub,or if they are damaged they should be replaced,or cleaned if they are dirty.
If this does not produce the desired results,the setting angle of the windshield wiper arms may be incorrect and should be checked and adjusted if necessary by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or qualified workshop.

1 Always clean the winshield wiper blades and all windows regularly.
2 Always makes sure to change the wiper blades once or twice a year. >$@
>$@ 1 Damaged or dirty windshield wipers can scratch the windshield.
2 Never use gasoline.nail polish remover,paint thinner or similar products to clean the windows.This could damage the windshield wiper blades.
3 Never move the windshield wiper or windshield wiper arm manually -this could cause damage!
4 To prevent damage to the wiping system,always loosen blades frozen to the glass before operating the wipers. >$@
